Counting My Blessings
I’ve been searching for answers that evaded me for so long
Trying to figure out where did I go wrong
But they are hidden under a mask of innocence
For my sins I constantly ask for repentance
All my dreams of yesterday are just a touch away.
To make them come true I strive and pray.
As I wander in the darkness of my mind searching for a spark
I know that without light in my life I cannot see in the dark
When my words don’t come out things inside make my pen write
Try as I might my wings are spread out ready to take off in a rapid flight
As I surrendered to life I plead for forgiveness
I also dream for hope and joy in my life but always wanting happiness
So I give life another chance to make my wish come true;
Knowing that my faith and trust Jesus is with you.
What I was yesterday is what I am today
That straight path ahead I keep walking that way
I do not look back like water evaporating on a beach that is old sand
I take life as it comes no expectations and no demands
Taking new challenges and walking different routes to reach my ultimate destination
Looking through the light that leads me to the right direction
But when I’m unable to find answers, to my remorseless questions
I just thank God and count my blessings
