Counting Love
I've whispered I love you, a million times
And I've given you ten- thousand kisses
I've written my love in five- thousand rhymes
An offering, your heart just dismisses
I've wiped at least a hundred-thousand tears
Whenever your sadness needed my sleeve
I've been by your side for twenty-two years
'Til you decided you wanted to leave
A thousand regrets imprisoned my mind
At least a dozen for each day we shared
I want back the love my heart had enshrined
For you will know that I'm sorry I cared
You've asked me to give it just one more try
I'm tired of counting, I'm saying goodbye
