Cost Of Living
Have you priced a roast or a steak lately,
or tried filling your tank with gasoline?
The cost of living has increased greatly,
while companies blame it on going green.
Corporations are raking in billions
while some struggle to buy food and pay rent.
I recall when houses didn't cost millions
and people valued coins, even a cent.
Greed sets the price that we're willing to pay;
with no limits and no apologies.
Those in power view poor people as prey,
and bleed us dry with new technologies.
Rising costs fuel the anxiety
prevalent in modern society.
