Convincing

Speak, oh so softly
and make it sincere,
hold your tongue, say no more now,
for they'll start to fear

Reach out and touch them,
take hold of their hand,
release them, let them go now,
for they understand

Look into their eyes,
gaze ever so deep
turn your head, look away now,
as they start to weep

Search for an answer,
for that's what you do,
there's always an answer
but rarely, they're true

Dig deep inside you,
look into your soul,
you'll see there's no conscience,
there is but a hole?

The price for your lies
is ever so steep,
do whatever you need to,
for you then, to sleep
