Contemplating Nothingness

To contemplate nothing with something, a Sisyphean task
The mind’s paths, like Escher’s roads, simply double back
To land again in somethingness, explanations lack
Yet our deeper selves know profoundly the nothingness
It’s the void that fills up magically with a loved one’s kiss

So, you will learn from your lessons.......... This is good! I thought the only thing that we learn from "history" is that " we never learn from history"........ Hmmmmmm. Cheers

Thanks. Not clear if there a certain # of rhyming lines required to constitute a "Rhyme" poem--slant rhymes are also rhymes.

Two rhymes in a five line poem doesn't qualify for rhyme, Tom.

A good HM, which might have gone higher in my placement had you called it free verse for it is not a rhyme.

I like your take on the theme, Tom. Your last line really is an unexpected sweet and gentle twist after the scientific, serious first four lines! Best wishes for the contest. Sandra
