Contemplate the Day
Contemplate the day
Before it goes away
Sing careless hymns
So everyone can hear
Churn words in melody
You said you saw painting
Art that’s too much to see
You heard music
An instrument couldn’t play
Turn off the clock
You could use a saint
Throw it in the mixer
And blend your thoughts away
Because you didn’t stop
To contemplate the day
Here’s the story of a day
It wouldn’t go away
And I didn’t take my medication
Here’s the drum in my ear
How’d you like to hear
The drolling damnation inside?
Maybe if you’d get lost
From under that guise
