Contamination

your dulcet words from your lips slipped into my bloodstream
and filled my heart with desire
but now even those delightful words sting like poison
contaminating my mind,
infecting my soul

I'm reminded of the 'weight of words' here by your wonderful, winning write: As my fave poet, Emily Dickinson wrote: A Word is Dead//When it is said//Some say//I say//It just begins to Live//That Day...Congratulations to you, Paley. Best wishes, Gershon Wolf
