Consuming Grapes and Pickles
consuming grapes and pickles
dig deep
passed the shovel
filled with detritus
don’t whine about today
tomorrow already eats the clock
ideas dance
like sugar plum fairies
Through a head
cotton wool as Pooh’s
brain storms turn to chaos
ideas fade
leaving tantalizing hints
of their greatness
if they had been captured
like finches in a fine net
pickles and grapes
tart and sweet is life
consume them at my desk
my memory numb, lacklustre
prompted with fruit and pickled cucumbers.
