Consider Me

"CONSIDER ME"

as the one who knows
as the one who cried for death
when the whores of my past
destroyed their kids and the
families around them.
through the tears and anger
of my insanity, the coin has
always been marked with
the same side.
consider me the one who laughed
when the ones wearing two faces
got theirs repeatedly.
inside the kitchens that have
been destroyed, inside the living
rooms where betrayal danced,
inside the mouths of filth lie
every ounce of reason to continue
the awareness of my surroundings.
consider me, even after I am dead,
as the one who went through it
all so you wouldn’t have to.
of course, there are many that
have a story to tell but ask a
hundred maniacs and you’ll never
find mine.
the breasts sit in my hands,
the flytraps change every bit of
reality for the average man.
consider me, Chicano Eddie,
the one who got it all down on
paper instead of jumping off a
bridge.
