Consider

Oh great hand of fate
What have you dealt me?
I sit here waiting, watching,
Reading the many words of others,
Dreaming of places, people, loves,
New relationships and so much more.
This poet’s heart may be shared
But yet it still beats and can certainly
Feel pain through the many pangs
It now endures.
Fate, be not a master despised,
But encourage and respect the hearts
Of us all to reach through our words
With honesty and emotion.
Be kind on us and let all plans
Fall upon the mercy of tomorrow
In order to bring smiles to faces
And hope to our hearts.
