Conscious World

I don't have to be stoned anymore
to see sentience everywhere. It's clear
to me sitting here moving my hands o'er
the keyboard that I and my loved one there
on the bed are connected to each and
as well the trees and the cat on the fence,
and the dogs sleeping in the yard that send
a paw twitching now and then but whose sense
of me, immediate. The air itself
is electric with life, I move against it,
I feel push back and water will tell of
my presence to all. And we find such wit
in the sky with flights of birds so aware,
the ground pushes back as I walk with care.
