Brian, it's a fascinating observation to see the poem that started it all. The staccato style, the alliteration with the hard-C, the format of 3 words followed by an all-caps summary word (with exclamation point) are all effective at creating almost a march-like cadence. Then the final line deviates from the pattern to emphasize your thesis. Well done, Brian. Not surprising that all those who left comments are unfamiliar names to me, 12 years later. John,for a few years in the early 90s in England 'March for Jesus ' was a popular witness,so maybe that influenced that first poetic effort.
