Connection

CONNECTION

My advances you rejected
When I hoped to become connected,
Yes, hoping for your affection
That there would be a connection.
When or whether
Can we get together?

For my approach to be perfected
It must be redirected
For on thought reflection
I’ve taken misdirection

When or whether
Can we get together?

I fear I’ve proceeded
Without thought of want you needed,
And omitted from the equation
Ample consideration.

When or whether
Can we get together?

I’m going on a mission
To really listen,
And, by showing you have been heard,
By an understanding word,
Make connection with you.

Then, perhaps,
We’ll get together.
