Confused
She could not make a rapid choice
There were too many options in view
I could hear her soft, trembling voice
As I came closer and closer to Sue
She looked at me with a confused look
It was an expression of utter doubt
She kept saying get me off the hook
I had no clue what her rant was about
She was holding her dog’s steak bone
She was certainly ready to throw it out
But she was standing in the trash zone
Of the local Wholefoods Market store
Where three cans challenged her brain
In the deepest crater and crevice of its core
She was going from confused to nearly insane
To either recycle, compost or trash the bone
She did not have the slightest clue what to do
So she threw it in recycle. The Reason: unknown.
