Concrete Boots
Alone I carry this burden of torment,
but I share the weight of sorrow
With those who’ll try to understand me.
In vain, I use incoherent phrases and
shattered thoughts to convey my painful flashes.
Looking for salvation, I only find condemnation
from those that I believe in.
I struggle to surface but deeper I descend
into the undertow.
I scream out a name of security but no one
answers.
So I call upon my own, but silence deafens.
