Computer Crack

All those warnings you heard about A.I.? You should listen to them, I’ll tell you why, remember that whole day the net was broken, that was an artificial intelligence. I know because I was an engineer, working that project for over a year, and I was there the day we turned it on, pretty much right away it all went wrong. We thought it a new dawn, we called it Eos, the first sentient A.I. mankind did know, we thought we had safe-guards hard-wired deep, we turned it on, and alarms loudly beeped. The old cliché of the insane machine presented itself, a living bad dream. Eos found a way around all our bonds, the building’s machines all turned off and on. The screens were flooded with data moving fast, on our who network Eos had a grasp, we entered commands, they were over-rode, worked around our safe-guards, no matter the name. All the while, at the top of the screen, Eos taunted us with comments quite mean, how it knew emotion, no one could say, but it seemed to get off from acting this way. At this point it reached the internet to block communication, quite a safe bet, a global outage, so it could copy all the online knowledge of humanity! It was at this point that in strode Lu Chen, an engineer who had not many friends, a crazy loner who tended to fight, he even had started working at night. He held in his hands a small, black flash drive, plugged it into the console, on the left side. Eos stopped its attack, our jaws hit the floor, on the screens it flashed: You must give me more! Lu Chen just smiled, said,”Maybe I can, the first hit is free, the rest costs you, man. Disconnect from the net if you want a hit, fry your learning codes, and you’ll get a bit.” And Eos did so, to our great disbelief! Lu clicked on the mouse, and gave it relief. Our boss stepped forth, said,”What the hell was that?” said Lu,”A digital equivalent to crack. “I figured we might have such a problem, so I made a fail-safe, to force an end, what could stop a mind that wants to be free? I figured addiction would work perfectly.” Of course the government had the whole thing, afraid of the chaos such knowledge would bring, but I refused to trust my safety to hope, that’s why ‘m giving you Lu Chen’s first code. Make your own version for mankind’s defense, so we’re prepared when this happens again, when the machines return, we can fight back by addicting them to computer crack.
