I never really got to know you, you were always busy with other things. And I feared the stories I'd heard were true; you were a full-fledged bird flexing her wings. Not a caged canary that sweetly sings, but a hawk, keen for the thrill the hunt brings. You appeared angelic, beyond pretty, I didn't think I stood any kind of chance. You were utterly charming and witty; it was doubtful I'd get a second glance. And yet your beauty held me in a trance, and I somehow had to ask you to dance. At first, I thought you'd never dance with me as I approached you with a doubtful heart. I was tempted to simply leave you be; I didn't exactly know how I should start. And my courage was fast falling apart, scared you might peg me as some brash upstart. But instead, you smiled, looked into my eyes, and answered, yes,… to my complete surprise.

Your lovely poem brings back memories of those awkward teen years where it took such courage to ask someone out for fear of rejection. A great example of Luloo's form for the contest Emile. Happy Holidays. ; ) xxoo

Awwww, this is SO nice. The theme kind of matches with the poem I did today for Broken Wings. A triple dizain type poem on my junior high days (this picture and the theme of your poem match up with my junior high days!!) Anyway, I have not posted it yet. hopefully soon. I think Laura will just love what you did with urban sonnet.
