Complement

COMPLEMENT* You told me once That my eyes are the most beautiful you Have ever seen I replied: If true, my love, Is only because into them your stunning beauty Is reflected! © Demetrios Trifiatis 04 NOVEMBER 2013 *I am aware that writing this poem I am skating on thin ice, BUT , wanting to pay back the complement a lady made, I came up With this answer for I do not think she is right!

No better response to a compliment than a compliment. You're a man of deep insight and sensitivity, Demetrios. Much as I'm eye-literate I tried to read your eyes and I have to agree with your lady friend: they are beautiful. A host of other adjectives came to mind, which will remain unsaid, but I daresay they might drill a hole right through to a person's soul, albeit gently. Nice poetry, my friend. I like. Licia :-)

Dear Licia, I think this is our first encounter and I regret that so late it came! Thank you for your visit and your complement that makes me blush and leaves me speechless! If I follow your advice though and answer a complement with a complement then I do not have to look for long since the splendor of your smile can easily add beauty to the eyes of the onlooker!
