Compassion

My compassion visited me today
I welcomed it into my home
And asked how was their day

My compassion told me
How wonderful it was
He told me of the people
He was able to help
Of the people he forgave
The patience he showed

Then my compassion looked to me
And asked what about me?
And I told my compassion I had a rough day
That I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror today
That I didn’t feel like I accomplished much
That I feel like I let down the people around me every day
That I just felt like a failure with no hope

And my compassion looked at me
With rage in his face
He told me to get over it and stop being such a wimp and to man up and do the hard things in life cause no one is going to help you do it. That no one will ever truly like you or be successful.

My compassion never did like me he never did have the time to listen to my day
He was always out there saving other people's day

My Compassion never treated me the same way.
