Comparison

COMPARISON Can I compare you to a summer's day? No, winter has come and you now are old, The golden glints in your hair have turned grey Snow will soon fall and your eulogy told. Once so cheerful, energetic and bright, Sipping summer's wine from a loving cup You tasted it's fruits, a pleasant delight, No longer a child, you became grown-up. Life carried on at an unhurried pace, As you believed life was just for living Even though old with a now wrinkled face Still go on with your lessons in giving. Now most of winter's have passed, but instead, There are eternal summer days ahead. copyright © Vivien Wade May 22, 2017 a sonnet
