Common Sense Takes Flight
COMMON SENSE TAKES FLIGHT
Dredged between river beds
Screams of woe and cellphones
Clawed by sticks and stones
Floating upriver
Glasses unhinged
Shirt around throat like a poisonous snake
Drowning in fate
Kicking up each primordial footprint
Given over to the bumpy road
Sacrificed to the precarious wings of the sky
It says: you shall not fly, don’t even try
They drag his comatose battered body
down the parishioner’s aisles
Each passenger crosses himself
They cry out, “My God! What is happening?!”
Vindication crosses its legs.
