Common Opposites

COMMON opposites.

How do you seem so calm when I rage?
How do I shake and hide when you take to the stage?
Why do you shine so bright when I run and hide?
Why do I stand behind when you stand by my side?

We love each other absolutely,
Utterly and completely.
We clicked from the start,
Nothing in common but the heart.

How do you smile so confidently and say ‘hi’?
Why do I shy away or just say ‘bye’.
You take the bull by the horns, I stand on the fence.
Your eyes are so loving and free yet mine are intense.

I kiss your cheek as you sleep,
The love we have is so deep.
I wonder what you see in me?
All I ever do is want to flee.

The truth is opposites attract that’s our glue.
They said we wouldn’t work, but we knew.
Roses are red but sometime they are white.
That’s why I can’t let you out of my sight.

Nice to read you again Gareth, once you left I thought you were gone forever, and hey ho! after 5 years you returned. Sadly, I've rarely been on these past few years. I trust your well :)

Congratulations on your placement with this fun poem about what we have in common. An enjoyable, well-written poem that is rather profound.
