Commentary, my spiky high blood sugar and miscellaneous

Is it a well proven fact, that most diabetics have uncontrollable sugar cravings? Of course it is but let me tell you about a couple of examples where that's no longer true. This first person, is a diabetic, but he's not either on insulin nor any diabetes medication. He's a personal friend, who attends church's community meals with my friend Mary and I. He doesn't drink: soda pop or eat any sweets or white bread; he takes great care of his diet. I don't which is why I am having nothing but problems with my diabetes!

This is our first example: were both younger, when we first met Patrick, he
was in a wheel chair and he had a lot of problems including weight gain.
We haven't seen him in years but the last times that we saw him: His weight
was normal, he was walking and he wasn't taking any prescription medication.
What was his solution: a healthier diet and plenty of fresh air and exercise.
I don't know if he's still alive or not.

My friend has a client that used to be an insulin dependent diabetic, but changed his diet and his life style. Apple cider vinegar. One teaspoon per at least 8 ounces per day, but not with an upset stomach. Cinnamon black tea is also good for lowering your blood sugar levels. But don't drink it too an excess.

Exercising. Most primary care doctors recommend an exercise program for most of their patients, who are able to do so. Babies learn to scoot, and crawl before they can be able to walk and run. If you are an inactive, especially older adult, easier and less strenuous exercises are better for us.

If we are able to do so, we need to moderately increase our exercising. Some seniors are in much better shape than coach and internet and video gamer's who are in their 40's for instance.

Ever hear of the terminology junk food addicts? Today more Americans are addicted to this unhealthy life style than our own ancestors were. Try coupling with it with beer? Double the
trouble but is it really double the fun? Try telling that to yourselves when you wake up with a terrific headache and a morning after's hang over.

There was a former but now deceased deacon, in my former Baptist church, who pickled his liver with consuming alcohol on the golf course on Sundays. He used to go to taverns during happy hour. His wife used to ask him if he were happy yet? After he would throw up in the toilet. He had a liver transplant but he didn't live very much longer afterwards.

What ever happened to the lost and now almost extinct life style referred to as human interpersonal communications and social interactions commonly known as 'talking to other people'? Enter into a family's living room space. What did the head of the household usually do during his family's breakfast time? The answer is read the morning's paper. Fast forward to modern times. Family members spend much more time viewing messages on tiny smart phone screens. Interacting much more with complete strangers than their own families.

Too much screen time equals too much eye strain. It is emotionally, socially, psychologically and spiritual detrimental to our sense of well beings. Especially younger children and teens need more restrictive screen times because of their developing brains. Have you ever seen on social media?
Human figures walking around with screens on top of their heads? Some people used to have visions of that actual occurrences in their dreams and in their visions. Sometimes, they still do.

What about the art of bullying? It used to be confined to school, the playground and the office for example. But now there's cyber bulling of young girls being told that they are either much too thin or much too fat. Boys being called names by professional bullies on-line is also resulting in a much higher teen aged suicide rate 'than the psychedelic 1960's and early seventies' during my own youth and younger adulthood.

Cyber bulling targets all people, tribes, tongues, languages and nations. Which is why the over all suicide rates are an all time higher rate than my own baby boomer generation!

What is a popular past time? Consuming comfort food, with some people drowning their sorrows, by eating too much ice cream. What can eating too much ice cream or ice milk do? It can cause headaches especially if you eat it too fast. Besides sporting events when do people consume too much ice cream? Breakups in personal relationships; the lose of a boy friend or a girl friend. It can also spike sugar levels but their are ice cream products that are lower in sucrose.

Cigarettes. Smoking used to be considered to be elegant by slinky dames holding cigarettes in their long cigarette holders while blowing smoke bubbles. Smoking smelly cigars used to be considered manly and also chewing smoking tobacco. Chewing tobacco causes throat cancer but so do cigarettes and people die even by smelling second hand cigarette smokes. Of course, we all know that smoking also causes lung cancer etc. What's the good news? Less teens are smoking than in previous generations.

DWI's and DUI's. I would like to comment: there are less incidents of driving while under the influence of alcohol and drinking under the influence of legal drugs, in some states, Marijuana.
Called weed, pot and Mary Jane. Mary Jane is an archaic phrase for Marijuana used by previous
generations especially popular in the 1950's. Remember the saying? "If you drink, don't drive,"
And the term, 'designated driver'? One person in your party not drinking and thus being able to
safely drive your motor vehicles. Lethal combinations. Drinking alcohol and smoking or vaping weed. Not only do you lose your sensory perceptions you also risk hallucinating as well. Yes believe it or not it can cause you to 'lose all of your perceptions of reality'!

On a daily bases, on a regular 'we trust our very lives to complete strangers on our nations' and (worlds highways.) But suppose those people are either drunk and/or high? Can we trust them then? No, but we can trust Jesus Christ. He provides not only physical protection but also spiritual protection from all hazardous conditions.

Marijuana, alcohol and mental illness. Is more deadlier than a loaded handgun. Marijuana has been proven to cause but not to help mental illness symptoms. What about combining mental health medication with either alcohol and or weed? People playing with matches only get their fingers badly burnt.

I eye witnessed a young man both drunk on booze and on psych medication getting banded from Compass Health cause of it. Instead of taking her psych meds, a young woman was smoking weed instead because of the adverse side effects of her legalize prescriptions. And even legal meds have some nasty side effects, and I ought to know that personally.
