Coming Out of the Dark

At last I can see beyond the gloom
That once held me down
I have shaken off the fatigue that wore at me
Now I can move forward and break through this doom
At last I can strive to reach my goals
I would let anything hold me back
Maybe now I can stand up and flourish again
For now I feel a weight removed from my soul
My past anguish and pain lives no more
Departed forever buried deep
May it lie there forever soundly asleep
And never show their face as they did before
Thou there may be scars that still show their face
They have began to fade over the years
Those disruptive actions that wove my future
At last I can feel I have some worth I can be embraced
So now I can tower up and feel the sun on my face
