Coming of Age

I wish I could go back. Back to the kickball games, The sidewalk chalk drawings, And playing until the street lights came on. I wish I could go back. Back to when my biggest worry in the world was if I was going to get to play after school. When my biggest problem was school because I couldn’t figure out how to write in cursive. I wish I could go back. Because now I’m too old for kickball, the sidewalks are just for walking, and no one has time to play outside anymore. I wish I could go back. Because now my biggest worries are college and how I am going to pay my bills. School just seems never ending and every day in every class seems impossible.
