Notes About The Poem

ripple

Listen to poem:

Coming into Being

The ripple remembers the stone,
even when the stone is gone.
It renders time as visible,
in presence tense, echoing what's passed,
spreading, widening, breeding,
dividing and resonating,
coming into being.

But, the pond cannot ripple again,
until the being has been, and gone.
Like a bell it fades its final gong,
gathering up the still pieces,
remembering the lines and rings
of its last song for
coming into being,
for the coming into being,
coming into being.

I like the way you string those together. Coming into being, coming into being. Great voice.
