Comfortably Numb

Cancerous treason Of this Human Race It's what my father Had to face Why it fires No one knows It gets a grip And grows and grows What sets this vengeance Of Human Life To take a Husband Or a Wife To venture Take our Children too In our race What do we do? Expenditure helps to cure Hopefully be so sure Eradicate this evil C From all of you and me All as it can become Why families are Comfortably numb .

Hi James, Just read "Comfortably Numb" It reminded me of the sobering cold light of day feeling. Stark reminder that all is not well at times. Hard fact of life to overcome. Hope your words helped you release some of the pain.Very poinant. Beautifully written. Christine Adams.

Not one of my best poems, but poignant as this terrible word took my father away back in 1976 when I was 15. The title of my poem in a track title by 'Pink Floyd' - as I mentioned before, there is so much music through my poetry, James :)

A poignant write. Several of my family members have died from various forms of cancer. My mother was only aged 48 when she died. Regards, Robert.
