Comfort Zone

When so many things seemed broken, I tend to turn my head, I appreciated the small simple beauty in life, I focused on that instead, I was never good at confrontation, I was always the peacemaker in my family, When rage would rear it's ugly head, "I love you" would erase those feelings, I interrupted fights many times, my nick name was "ma ma" at work, I saw no sense in meaningless arguements, to me they were absurd, I took the time to hear people, even if it meant staying after late, I valued the hearts that opened up, and the ones that needed space, I took the initiative to go out of my comfort zone, and placed my heart on my sleeve, Because I realize that life is short, and we never know when we'll leave, The loss I've had within my life has taught me a great deal, That the only thing in life that matters is the love we know that's real.
