Come To the Quiet

Majestic stand the towering pines,
sure and steady in their great strength.
Still and calm are their vertical lines,
as they stand in towering length.

Their beauty is a certainty
in a world of uncertain times.
At one within their surroundings,
they are part of the Creators' rhymes.

  Everything is at harmony here,
such wonders that coexist.
To name the things that the eye beholds
is a long, descriptive list.

Come to the quiet and be still.
Let your soul reflect your surroundings.
For if it's stillness that you seek,
you'll experience wonders abounding.

This is amazing Douglas. To name the things that the eye beholds is a long, descriptive list. Come to the quiet and be still.... Lines we need to see always manage to find their way to us. Thank you my friend. I needed to read that. Brilliant.

This poem evokes a welcome sense of serenity, Douglas. There is so much beauty around us that we can only appreciate when we allow ourselves to be "quiet and still." Stopping to smell the roses is always part of a good day. Very inspiring! Love, Carolyn

Douglas, This poem is wonderful. I'm going to favorite it, too. "Majestic stand of towering pines" made me think of the majestic souls who stand strong with righetousness towering above evil. This is beautiful. Always, Dane
