Listen to poem:

Come To the Azure Window

Come to the azure window Its still here in my dreams The glowing moon a light- house Your compass is the breeze. The breeze would fill the sails The moonlight leads your path The window will be open to reach-out for my heart. They say its gone forever Desperate waves destroyed it There' s no way you can reach There's nowhere you can climb through and ever rescue me. . The rocky arch of nature's wonders deceived by a restless sea Collapsed, hit by a rough- storm lies buried in the deep. But is there somebody out there who dares to ride the tide To swim against the tempest till my vacant arms He'll find. Is there somebody out there to save me from the day to hidden coves He'll guide me and takes my breath away. Come to the azure window Its still here in my dreams The ocean-spumes lap on-shore with fluting melodies. PS-The Azure Window was a natural mesmerizing arch on the island of Gozo, with its flat top over the sea at Dwejra Bay.On the 8th of March 2017 it collapsed due to stromg winds and rough'-seas,and now this landmark is gone, not to be seen.

This beautiful poem is so genuine and I can feel it coming straight from the heart, Charm. You reflect the same emotions which I and many others feel at this loss. Now we must let go, while still keeping our memories, but we also have to understand that no artificial structure will ever replace the natural beauty which we had. ~ Regards // paul

This is really beautiful. Paul has a poem, note and picture of this treasure. It was my first knowledge of the irreparable damage done...so devastating. The moment I read the word "Azure" in your title, I knew you would write of its importance with great heart and care.:-) A truly lovely poem...belongs on a plaque of remembrance:-) many blessings to you :-) lynn

I still look at the pictures we took when we visited - it is so so sad to see the footage of it being washed away - a national treasure that can never be replaced - I agree with Tim you should get this published in the paper and share it with your country:-) hugs Jan xx

Beautiful poem, you pulled me in deeper with the story you tell after. You have such a way with words, they flow like caress like ocean waves, drawing the reader in and out to sea. Lovely Charmaine xomo

On my, this poem completely took my breath away. I had read about the loss of this natural treasure and it saddened me but your poem is far beyond a rock formation jutting from the sea, your poem tells of a weeping heart longing for one to traverse the loss and hold you closely as this arch lives in your dreams and still reaches for his hand. This was amazing Charmaine. So beautiful and touching.
