Come See Our New Baby

Come See Our New Baby

By Elton Camp

Joe and Meg gave us an excited call
“We’ve something great to tell y’all.”

“Our plans have met with success.
A new baby our home does bless.”

“The adoption’s complete—legally done.
Caring for Mitzi we are having such fun.”

“You won’t believe her lovely hair.
Her loving eyes just make you care.”

“Cute little sounds she makes all night
To our ears are a rapturous delight.”

“We give Mitzi a bath in the kitchen sink.
That’s the safest, best way, we think.”

“Her room has the nicest furniture we can get.
She seems to enjoy sleeping in her bassinet

When we visited, just imagine our surprise
Seeing Mitzi, we couldn’t believe our eyes

In the bassinet, their “baby” lay
“It’s just a dog!” we each did say

Joe and Meg both got riled
“No, she’s our fur child!”

Thanks, it was inspired by one of our relatives and her view toward dogs.
