Come Out & Play

i put you in a cage
to keep you safe
sealed it with
saliva, sticky
strands of rage.
come out & play,
i say, waving
treats just out
of reach- let me
teach you how to
grow. i know
better than to
listen to
no, to
let me go; your
eyes glisten (in
joy), my little
toy.
