Come Back My Son

I first held you upon my breast
I tasted ultimate love
Head still damp and smeared with blood
This gift sent from above

I watched you grow into the boy
With pride my heart did glow
Such hope for you I had back then
Your childhood seemed to flow

As high school came you did excel
Bright future was ahead
A handsome boy, you had the charm
Even caught girls in your bed

Adult hood you started well
two children with fair maid
A handy man with nimble hands
Your future path now laid

I heard one day you tried THE drug
Experiments, I thought
I had no fear I raised you well
Hope you learned from all I taught

The years did pass, I watched you lose
Everything that you had gained
I failed to help you my sweet son
I'm here completely pained

Don't ever think my love has died
Of that you can be assured
I just can't let you in my heart
Till your addiction's cured
