Come and See

                                           The sparkling spring sun glows across the dew,
                                                    Whispering a  promise shining anew,
                                               The grass is soft beneath the treading feet,
                                              With summer on its way across the street.

                                            I and my love stroll where sweet silence creeps,
                                               With some sacred secrets veiled in its sleep,
                                                  A long journey together we have made
                                           Through wintry cold, light and the greyish shade.

                                              The blowing air turns still, a moment trapped
                                                   As if the world holds its breath in its lap,
                                               And then beside the rippling winding stream
                                                       I hear a voice calling as in a dream.

                                                “Come and see, a small bud begins to part,”
                                            It`s my love`s voice, from the depth of her heart;
                                                  When I approach the meandering stream,
                                               A bloom not seen before, to my eyes gleams.

                                                    It seems no artist’s hand can ever trace
                                              The perfect curve of this strange flower`s grace,
                                                       A cheerful colour never seen before
                                                That calls for nothing, nor does it wish more.

                                                     It blooms lovelier to the sparkling light,
                                                    A fragile beacon beaming benign bright;
                                                 It`s not a common bloom of garden ground
                                                    But a rare perfection that has been found.

                                                         Its petals designed as the finest lace,
                                                      A shining wonder in this verdant space,
                                                     Offer a shared moment, a sight to hold,
                                                    A gem more precious than the finest gold.

                                                  “I hope our bloom will shine as bright”, I say
                                                       To my love, by the beauty blown away,
                                             With mirth she replies: ”come and see next spring,
                                                   How will fare the blossom of our offspring.”
