Colors of Life

Colors of youth

So vibrant and true.

Fresh and bright

Never giving a clue

Colors of yesterdays

Shades lighter and dim

Chances of brightening

Are all running slim

Colors of memories

Fading softly each day

No longer sharp

Black into gray

Colors of Joy

Lost in time and space

Forgotten in the corners

Of another place

Colors of Happiness

Broken in pieces

Stripped from Life

Leaving only creases

Colors of Love

Chipped and peeling

Fallen off the canvas

Alone and unfeeling

Colors of today...

Simply gone away.

Colors of tomorrow?

Simply another day

It's Life's Colors

What more can I say?

Wow, I missed this one earlier. The canvas holds a magic touch. Your simple lines have said so much. One understands the very essence. Of yesterday and tomorrow in all it's presence. Hi Debra, this is a wonderful poem. It connects the heart. May your colors be vibrant to the end. Your friend the rhyming commenter. :)

This reflects sadness and the colors only black and gray. We have to color that world of yours with blue and yellow and orange. SMILE. love phyl

Very creative and can be true of life..Sometimes those memories are tainted by unpleasant happenings, being abused, stress or other things in life..Good can return if one will open the door to possibilities..Enjoyed reading this morn..Sara

Thank you Sara. Wrote this one day when I was feeling rather blue. I'm always open to possibilities...should they come my way.
