Colors
In fields of wildflowers many colors bloom
Peek out from green blankets as they find room
With petals of yellow, and centers of brown
Cascades of pink clusters, wipe out a frown.
They lift the spirit with their beauty and scent
One must realize that they are heaven sent
For it’s not only in nature that we should see
That beautiful colors is how mankind should be?
There is no one color that is better than all
To eliminate one would cause others to fall
Just as blooms in nature, with spaces between
Contrast in colors makes a beautiful scene.
Embrace every neighbor, black, brown or white
A bouquet of colors, a beautiful sight
Every creed or culture, around the earth
Each has a belief, each has its own worth.
They can mix together and yet stand alone
Centuries of tradition for each of them grown
A world full of colors in nature and man
Differences enriching us, since time began.
