Cold Night

The night lies still, the moon hangs low

Above a sparkling, softly falling snow.

The pines are tipped in lacey white

The sky darkened by shadowed night.

Flowers of summer, blooms long past

Winter approaching, coming fast.

Wild birds sing, sharing winters dreams

The rhythm of the season, nature brings.
