A pair of gloves are warm to the fingers, short term- methinks. Even now, I find myself pulling them out if the finger sleeves and curling them up to keep them warm when I'm outside too long. Even with a good pair of gloves my fingers still get cold. Maybe it's old age, or...maybe it's just me. (lol)

Back in the days in my youngster years Having cold fingers and toes were one of my fears Even today, now that I've grown old I still hate when my toes and my fingers get cold When we would go ice-skating down at the park Or sleigh-ride all day until it got dark I remember how cold it felt on my fingers and toes I'd use the fingers from my gloves to wipe the snot off my nose Besides, my fingers were always cold when slipped in the slots I would tuck in my fingers and curl them in knots So, when I was young, I preferred to wear a mitten To save my little fingers from getting frost bitten Of What Use Are Gloves to Fingers That Only Understand Mittens Poetry Contest Sponsor- John Lawless 1-11-2023

Great poem Charlie, your fingers can wriggle and jiggle and keep each other warm in mittens. lts lucky that socks leave room for all of your toes to be together too.

A great argument on the type of gloves you should wear. In Malta, it is not so cold so I do not need gloves.
