Cold and Lonely
it was a most beautiful day
the sky couldn't have been more blue
or the waters more clear
birds flew past with beautiful songs
everywhere people were happy
the world couldn't have been better
but amidst the fun everywhere i sit
forlorn, melancholic, sad, depressed
the otherwise perfect day was marred
by the absence of my love
the only one who brings light to my world
while others make merry, i cry
venting my anger on distance
which makes it impossible for two hearts to become one
i remember with nostalgia
the last time i was with you
how i looked into your eyes and saw myself
how i went into your arms and stayed till infinity
while the whole world stood still and waited
how we found out after we disentangled
that infinity was but a few minutes
the only one who makes my sorrows turn instantly to bliss and my depression,
excitement
however can i express the extent of my love
one that is boundless, limitless and endless
you make my world worthwhile
knowing i've got you keeps me going
the feeling i have is lots more than love
it's an unmatched, unrivalled and unparalleled feeling of total contentment
knowing i've got the best thing that has happened to the human race...YOU!
