Cold

As my hand drifts along the windowsill While my eyes drop to the floor boards My spine shakes with a chill And the rain starts to pour The sky is clear But the rain is heavy Each drop is sincere Every breath is steady My heart is on fire I’m surrounded by snow I want to let in the cold And pass above or below My eyes are closed All emotions are silent Every thought and memory composed Now are eternally quiet My eyes squint from the embrace of heat My toes grasp the grass below my feet My fingers sway through the fresh summer air As leaves rest upon my hair The flowers dance with each other Trees sing with one another My eyes flooded with color As my view ventures further The wind flows through the trees Carrying a song and a gentle breeze Pushing and pulling, filling me with ease And in this moment time would freeze The sun sets and the moon illuminates the sky Every star passing by Makes me depressed within this sweet lie I have realised that hours ago I have died
