Cold
HE STARES AT THE COLD SMALL BARS,
WISHING HE COULD JUST BREAK FREE,
AND HE WATCH THE COLD STONE WALLS,
AS THEY CLOSE IN AROUND HIM.
HE LAYS DOWN IN HIS COLD BED,
THINKING ABOUT WHAT HE DID WRONG,
THINKING ABOUT HIS COLD CONSCIENCE,
HOPING HE CAN STILL BE STRONG.
HE WALKS AROUND IN HIS COLD CELL,
PACING BACK AND FORTH ON HIS COLD FLOOR,
WISHING THE COLDNESS WOULD GO AWAY,
WISHING FOR HEAT MORE AND MORE.
HE FEEL ALL THE COLD AIR,
CHILLING HIM TO THE BONE,
WISHING HE COULD BE WARM AGAIN,
WISHING HE COULD BE HOME.
