Cognizance

when i close my eyes
sometimes i see you
standing next to me
youthful memories
of a mother's love

within the folds
of eyes closed tight
i reach for you
your skin grows cold

memories
lingering
i grow old

tears fall
i curse

death

It is so sad how fast things change with a death; it re-routes lives. I hope she did not go when you were too young, but losing a mother must be horrible. I still have mine. Nice one.

she was 55 when she passed, i was 32, my oldest son remembers her well, my daughter somewhat, my youngest was under 3 so he only has vague memories~ now that i have outlived her i realize how young she really was! You are blessed to still have yours, enjoy and thanks for the read and comment hugs
