Notes About The Poem
Too long between drinks.

Coffee With An Old Friend
Ring Ring… Hi, how are you going?
Let’s do lunch today.
About one, down the river bank,
In that small Java-Jive café.
You haven’t changed a bit, my friend,
The years have been good to you.
I’ve gone completely bald,
You’ve still that Hispanic hairdo.
It’s been ages since we talked about nothing,
The nothing that is our life,
How’s the kids, the house, dogs and job,
And how’s your beautiful wife?
I’m glad we caught up, let’s do this again,
Next time at the pub with some beers.
Yeah, that’d be good, let’s pencil it in,
In another ten or so years.
