Coffee
Coffee
I arose early this morning with the fragrance of roses drifting in through my opened window.
This gentle breeze stirs life to awaken from its slumber.
The Twilight of this gentle morning brings me to dress in my robe and slippers.
I walk to the coffee pot in my kitchen and there
is my delicious morning coffee.
I grab the coffee in both hands and cherish it’s melodious fragrance.
I slowly walked to the front door and opened it.
I pondered the wonderful and colorful sight before me.
Watching the hummingbirds feed on the feeder,
with the sweet chirping sound of birds.
How beautiful they are as I sip my coffee.
I proceeded to my favorite bench and looked toward the sky.
Before me was a wonderful sunrise coming to warm this beautiful Earth.
The reds, orange, yellow and purple dance across
the sky, reflecting and highlighting the clouds, it made me cry.
Soon it started to rain, and I danced in the purity
of this liquid sunshine, it then slowly stopped,
revealing more lovely life before me.
Oh, such wondrous joy to witness this miracle
of a new day and to bring it
forth with a cup of delicious coffee.
