Notes About The Poem

the following poem written based upon the above image--for online poetry class (write an alliterative poem)

COCKATIELS, CHERRY BLOSSOMS, AND SPRING

Cockatiels coo in the early quiet,
their crest feathers catching the faintest color,
morning moving toward me with a memory-soft touch.

Cherry blossoms loosen their light petals,
each one falling like a long-kept moment,
soft signs slipping across the path of who I was.

Spring steps gently back onto the land,
stirring stillness I’d almost grown used to,
a season slowly offering its sweet beginning again.<

I like how you have played with the phrase "a spring in their step" and changed it to spring itself stepping. I like all the alliterative images of nature, like the opening verb phrase. With the path, I picture a physical path with "loosen[ed ] light petals" on it from the cherry blossom, as well as a figurative path. Great imagery!
