Coat Tails

The girl in the lavender coat tails
Dropped her wars on the way out the door.
So I sent them to her in the mail
Hoping she would realize the floor
Was Jell-O and the lime green door did
Really need to be there. Maybe, she said,
But do you really need to have two heads?

Maybe, I answered, quite calmly, the rail
Hurt your head. For neither do I have nor
Do I need two heads. So I took the coat tails
From her coat set and sold them door to door.
I sold quite a few dozen or so before
I realized I had started with only two.
So I went shopping, what else was there to do?
