Coagulation

Finally my blood began to coagulate;
crimson hues slow dance
to the musical notes of healing,
and the symphony scores a pattern,
weaving the fabic of fibrin
into a tapestry like a warrior's
victory blanket.

Blood again flows like a river
finding its course unhindered,
and I rise and live on;
scars on my body a reminder
of the battle fought and won,
every heartbeat a testament
to where I belong.

Congratulations on your win, Chetta. Your imagery stands out and moves the strong metaphorical meaning of your poem! Love the phrases "like a warrior's...victory blanket" and "every heartbeat a testament...to where I belong." Blessings to you!

Congrats on 3rd place out of 31 entries in my contest! You had outstanding wordplay, strong and terse structure, a great economy of words usage.

Thank you. It is always a challenge to write from a prompt. Fun though.
