The zodiacs were first fixed to dates around the 1st century BCE to 1st century CE, when Greco-Roman astrologers tied the tropical zodiac to the equinoxes and mapped them onto the calendar. The sidereal zodiac (Indian/Vedic astrology) still aligns with constellations, meaning its dates drift slowly over millennia due to Earth’s wobble (~1° every 72 years).

Listen to poem:
Ancient horoscopes
twelve constellations arrayed
a circle of fate-
read as the constellations
behind sun on your birthday
But the Earth titled
its axis drifted through ages
wobbling through the years-
one degree in seventy
it seemed insignificant
A hundred years pass
the stars slide out single days
just out of the frame-
the chart remains accurate
yet the heavens advancing
After 300 year pass
for some their sign is now wrong
spring appears in fall
what was once read as Aries
is now Pisces behind sun
The lesson is clear
zodiacs freeze time in place
but the stars move on
prophecies lose their anchor
when the sky forgets its map
