Clouds

When clouds are slowly drifting by across the heavens in my mind, they lift my thoughts into the sky in search of dreams I long to find. I’m carried off to distant lands when clouds are slowly drifting by to pristine beaches white with sands and palm trees swaying way up high. At times a darkness fills my sky as though the sun has disappeared when stormy clouds are drifting by and hiding hope with dreams I feared. But then my vivid fantasies that leave me on a natural high restore my weary mind to ease when clouds are slowly drifting by. June 14, 2020

As a child I was told angels would sometimes sit on the white ones and watch us. I still like to watch the clouds and see the shapes they create, Enjoyed your poem John, Emilia.

Nature gives us many beautiful sights and clouds are certainly one of them. I too enjoy watching the clouds and there ever changing shapes. I suppose that’s the dreamer in me. Hugs, John

Wordsworth was my definitive poet on clouds, but now I'm having second thoughts. Superbly written and wonderful to read. Thank you.

Thanks for the wonderful comments, Kenneth, I hardly believe my thoughts on clouds would compare to Woodsworth. All the best. John

"When clouds are slowly drifting by" A heart floats along the sky. It is love that lifts you even higher. This is beautiful and tender, holding a soft touch of romance. I shall place this in my favorites. :) Brandy

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Brandy. This poem is about fantasies, I think I spent too much time in the clouds. John
