Closer to you
As life would have it
I met you by chance
Never thought you would give me
a second glance
You even tried hiding from me,
like you always do
There's nothing I wouldn't do
to get closer to you
How can it be that you
are standing next to me?
when it's plain for all to see
you're way out of my league
God answered my prayers,
you came right out of the blue
Now there's nothing I wouldn't do,
to get closer to you

Being beside you sets my soul free

Suddenly my life started
to make much more sense
We were finally together,
in the present tense
The impossible is happening,
but I know that it's true

to get closer to you
I showed you my love,
gave you my true devotion
You started realizing,
it was a valuable emotion
Your heart finally melted
and you said to me I do
Now there's nothing I wouldn't do,
to get closer to you

I know that I've been blessed,
wouldn't take that for granted
How our love has grown,
all my fears have been supplanted
Many years have passed,
they've been more than just a few
Now I'll spend eternity and forever,
